Guys... tomorrow we'll be facing the new year. 2003. We'll leave 2002. Well, just think oh that two o o two.. What did you guys do all through the years? I must say a lot. And among of them, there must be some special moments. Or maybe a kind of topic that you might give it to 2002. For me, the most unforgettable moment of 2002 is my journey to Newmont Nusa Tenggara. I did some job training on that big company. Since it's so far away from Bandung, I got homesick but pretty happy too.
But through this crazy year (well maybe not that crazy), I must say it was all about BEACHES!!! Finally, after all those fuckin' theory my teachers gave me, I can enjoy the whole detail about beaches and about the sea. Here, let me tell you all of my beaches journey:
1. 4 days... me, along with 13 friends of mine from HMGF and SADAGORI, we walked along the shoreline. Pameupeuk, is heading up to India Ocean. The waves is so big, and the current is very strong. So we're not allowed to swim there. But we met a few estuary (that's where river meets the sea), and we swam there. The water was cold, nice to feel it in my skin because of the hot air. The other nice things about this journey: we slept outside. Yes, we build tends, but it was so hot inside, so we brought our slepping bag and slept outside. It was all lovely.. I mean, before we slept, we chatted a lot, shared stories ang laughter... after that we slept under the stars and heard the sounds of the waves. I never regret this journey, although my skin turned very black and I ahd a few itches in my legs, and because I swam a lot, I got influenza... But four days nearby the sea, hmm... very lovely.
2. Indramayu.
At first, I wanted to do rafting with some friends. But my guidance teacher said that I must join the survey for my final project. So, we went there. Here's the route: Bandung-Eretan-Balongan-Pondook Bali-Penangkaran Buaya-Subang-ITB-Ayam Goreng RCTI-MR. Hamzah's house-around the city-home. Just two days away, but I felt very tired. Do you know what, I only slept for about 3 hour during the journey. Wowow, the sleepyhad girl has turned into the insomnia-girl? I guess so... had a trouble in sleeping. We spend the night at Pondok Bali. I didin't want to go there any more. Dirty coast (yes, Java north coast usually full of mud), and lots lots lots of MOSQUITOS!!!!! DO you know what, I slept with a sleeping bag on, and they still bited me!!! Yiks!!! The most uncomfortable nights near the beach!!! ... anyway, we observed mangroove and the type of the beaches. And I was so relieved by the time I reached home.
3. NewMont Nusa Tenggara.
In 2002, I did sort of job training at PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara. Yes... it is far from Bandung, located on West side of NTB, just 3 hours away from Mataram. I went there together with Adit (combine Maxwell, Marcel and Lenny Kravits: BOOM! You'll get one like Adit!) and I stayed there for about one month. PT NNT is nearby the sea. Yeah, of course, that's why I took the job training there. I went to the sea almost everyday!!!! WOW!!! The beaches were various: Benete Bay (clean water where I usually snorkled with a bunch of people which joined diving lesson), Trophy beach (very torqouise blue water with a strong current. Swimming is prohibited here But that's OK. There's a resort here and you just chill out watching that water colour. ow, white sand too), Senunu Bay (Strong current, big big big swell... ), Puna Bay (we stayed here one night for Turtles Survey. Great beach. Big waves. Turtles love it so much), and many more. Yeah, it was so nice to live nearby the sea. You got a headache, come to the beaches for the weekend, and then the headaches will end. By the time I reached Bandung, I was missing the beaches so much.
